Confirmed Distribution
It occurs across northern Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay, and Brazil.
Questionable Distribution Record
The existing record of this species from Suriname, originally published under the name Liotyphlops incertus, is considered questionable.
Habitat and Altitude Range
Its confirmed natural habitats include grassland, savanna, and gallery forest, located at altitudes ranging from 200 to 1,000 m (660 to 3,280 ft).
Behavior and Diet
This is a fossorial, burrowing species that feeds primarily on insects, with a particular preference for ants and termites.
Reproduction
It reproduces via an oviparous method; an adult female can lay a clutch of between 2 and 7 eggs.
