About Linanthus bigelovii (A.Gray) Greene

Linanthus bigelovii is a species of flowering plant in the phlox family, commonly known as Bigelow's linanthus. It is native to the southwestern United States and northern Mexico, where it grows primarily in dry habitats including the Sonoran and Mojave Deserts. This annual herb grows a thin stem that reaches up to around 20 centimetres in height. Its leaves are unlobed, ranging from linear to needle-like in shape, and measure 1 to 3 centimetres long. Its inflorescence is a small cluster of white flowers, each with lobes just under a centimetre long and black centres. The flowers are sometimes tinted lavender, and they open in the evening.
