About Lilaeopsis occidentalis J.M.Coult. & Rose

Lilaeopsis occidentalis J.M.Coult. & Rose is a species of flowering plant in the Apiaceae family, commonly called western grasswort. It is native to the coastal region of western North America, ranging from far southern Alaska to California, where it grows in brackish and salt marshes. This perennial herb grows from a network of rhizomes, producing a tuft of thready, yet stiff and erect, grass-like leaves that reach up to around 30 centimeters in length. Its very small flowers grow in an umbel on a short stalk, and the plant produces tiny round fruits that are only 1 to 2 millimeters wide.
