Liatris pilosa (Aiton) Willd., which has the synonym Liatris graminifolia, is a species of flowering plant in the Asteraceae family. It has several common names: grass-leaf blazingstar, sandhills blazing star (a name it shares with Liatris cokeri), shaggy blazing star, and shaggy gayfeather. This species is native to Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina, all areas east of the Appalachian Mountains in the United States. It is a perennial plant that can grow up to 4 ft (1.2 m) tall. It is typically found growing in open woodlands, forest edges, salt marsh edges, and dune depressions.
