About Liatris gracilis Pursh

Liatris gracilis Pursh, commonly known as the slender blazing-star or slender gayfeather, is a species of flowering plant in the Asteraceae family. This perennial plant can grow up to 40 inches (1 meter) tall, though individuals are often much shorter than this maximum height. It is native to five southeastern United States: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, and South Carolina. It has been recorded growing in a variety of habitats including longleaf pine-wiregrass communities, oak scrub, grasslands, and sandhills.
