Lexias aeropa, commonly called the orange-banded plane, is a butterfly species that belongs to the Nymphalidae family. Its scientific name is Lexias aeropa (Linnaeus, 1758). This species can be found in South-East Asia and Australia. Females of this species have an approximate wingspan of 85 mm, and they are larger than males, which have a wingspan of about 60 mm. Adult Lexias aeropa have a dark brown base color to their wings, with a broad orange band running across each wing. The underside of the wings follows a similar pattern to the upper side, but it is paler and has a noticeably mottled appearance. The larvae of this butterfly feed on plants from the Calophyllum genus.
