Leucosphaera bainesii (Hook.fil.) Gilg is a species of flowering plant in the amaranth family, Amaranthaceae. This species is a subshrub, and it is native to southern tropical Africa and southern Africa. Its native distribution extends from Angola, through Namibia, Botswana, and Zimbabwe, to the Northern Provinces and Cape Provinces of South Africa. Leucosphaera bainesii is the only species that belongs to the genus Leucosphaera, making the genus monotypic.
