About Leucoagaricus nympharum (Kalchbr.) Bon

The species described here, currently classified as Leucoagaricus nympharum (Kalchbr.) Bon, was previously known as Leucocoprinus nympharum. It is a large white dapperling mushroom that has a distinctive scaly cap. This cap resembles the cap of Chlorophyllum rhacodes, but it is smaller, measuring 4–10cm across, and has a much purer, more striking white color. Despite having a clear, recognizable appearance, this species is rarely recorded and remains poorly understood.
