Adult Leucania zeae are active in flight from March to November each year. This species produces multiple generations per year. Recorded food plants for Leucania zeae include Arundo donax, Zea mays, other Gramineae species, and cereals growing in Europe. Leucania zeae is occasionally classified as a minor pest.
