About Lessertia frutescens (L.) Goldblatt & J.C.Manning
Lessertia frutescens (L.) Goldblatt & J.C.Manning is a small bush that reaches a maximum height of roughly 1 meter, or 39 inches. This species is native to dry regions of southern Africa. It prefers growing in full sun, but can tolerate a broad range of soil types. It is a tough, hardy, fast-growing, drought-tolerant plant with a short lifespan. Its seeds germinate easily within approximately two to three weeks, and mature established plants readily self-seed. In cultivation, young seedlings can be susceptible to damping off. When grown in well-drained soil, the species grows easily and does not face significant pest vulnerability.
