About Lespedeza stuevei Nutt.

Lespedeza stuevei, commonly called tall bushclover, is a perennial legume native to North America. It is distributed across the eastern half of the United States, ranging from Massachusetts to Florida and extending west to Texas. It is most commonly found in woodlands and along woodland borders. Its stems are erect, and its leaves are alternately arranged and pinnately trifoliate. The flowers of this species grow in dense clusters, and may have either four or five petals. Petals are typically purple, but can also range in shade from blue and pink to red. The single-seeded fruit measures between 4 and 7 millimeters in length. This species is able to persist through repeated prescribed burns.
