About Lemyra maculifascia (Walker, 1855)

Lemyra maculifascia is a moth species belonging to the family Erebidae. It was first described by Francis Walker in 1855. This species is distributed in China (Shandong and Yunnan provinces), Indonesia (Sumatra, Nias, Java, Bali, Borneo, Sulawesi, the Moluccas, Ambon Island, Buru, Lombok, Dammer, and Aru), Timor, the Philippines, New Guinea, and Australia (Western Australia and Queensland). It occurs in secondary habitats, including scrubland, clearings within primary forests, and plantations, ranging from sea level up to around 1,200 meters in elevation. The wingspan of adult Lemyra maculifascia is approximately 30 mm. Recorded host plants for the larvae of this species include the foliage of Dioscorea oppositifolia, as well as species from the genera Convolvulus and Erythrina.
