About Lebia analis Dejean, 1825

This species is scientifically named Lebia analis Dejean, 1825. Adult beetles of this species reach a length of approximately one-third of an inch, which corresponds to a range of 4.5–5 millimetres (0.18–0.20 in). Their elytra bear a pale marking at the apical end, interrupted by a fine black border that runs along the suture. The upper lateral region of the pronotum is striated. The common body coloration is a mix of brown and black, though individuals can also appear in a combination of orange and dark purple. This species is native to Canada. Ecologically, these beetles feed on the foliage and flowers of a variety of plants.
