About Lasthenia glaberrima DC.
Lasthenia glaberrima DC. is an annual herb. It grows a mostly erect, hairless stem that reaches a maximum height of around 35 centimeters. The stem may or may not branch, and it holds hairless, linear leaves that grow up to roughly 10 centimeters long. An inflorescence of flower heads sits at the top of the stem; these flower heads have fused, pointed phyllaries. Each flower head contains numerous yellowish or greenish disc florets. It also produces yellow ray florets, but these are so short that they may be nearly invisible inside the phyllary involucre. Its fruit is a hairy achene a few millimeters long, with a linear shape and a pappus made of scales.
