About Lasthenia coronaria (Nutt.) Ornduff

Lasthenia coronaria is an annual herb that grows to a maximum height near 40 centimeters. Its stem may be branched or unbranched, and bears linear or deeply divided pointed leaves that reach up to around 6 centimeters in length. The leaves, and sometimes the stems, are covered in a layer of glandular hairs. The foliage of this plant has a sweet scent. Inflorescences of flower heads grow at the tops of the stems, and these heads have hairy, glandular phyllaries. Each flower head holds many yellow disc florets, surrounded by a fringe of small yellow ray florets. The fruit produced is a hairy achene that grows up to around 2 millimeters long.
