About Lasionycta proxima Hübner, 1809

Lasionycta proxima is a moth species belonging to the family Noctuidae. This species ranges from Spain through Europe, eastward to the Amur region of eastern Asia. It is absent from the north-west of the British Isles. In the northern part of its range, it extends as far north as the Polar Circle. In the south, it occurs from the Mediterranean Sea through the Caucasus to Mongolia. The wingspan of adult moths measures 28–36 mm. Adults generally fly from June to August, with a second generation occurring in October in some locations. The larvae primarily feed on Alchemilla vulgaris, Taraxacum, and Artemisia; they have also been recorded feeding on Rumex crispus and Campanula.
