About Landolphia kirkii Dyer

Landolphia kirkii has leaves that are typically oblong, and sometimes ovate, growing up to 9 centimetres (3.5 in) long. The upper surface of the leaves is glossy green, with a channeled midrib. The leaves have 10 to 12 pairs of lateral veins, plus slightly raised net-veining located just above the midrib; the underside of the leaves is covered in fine soft hairs called pubescence. Its inflorescence holds many flowers, which are white or creamy-yellow, 1 centimetre (0.39 in) in diameter, and have a floral tube 3.5–4 millimetres (0.14–0.16 in) long. The plant produces spherical green fruits that measure 15 centimetres (5.9 in) in diameter, and these fruits are edible.
