About Lagenophora pumila (G.Forst.) Cheeseman

Lagenophora pumila (G.Forst.) Cheeseman produces small flowers that are white and yellow in color. Its range spans across New Zealand, including some outlying islands such as Kapiti Island, and the more distant New Zealand Subantarctic Islands. It is also recorded from Kao Island in Tonga, known from only a single collected specimen. It grows in habitats ranging from lowland to montane grasslands. Ecologically, Lagenophora pumila serves as a good indicator species for wetlands. Puccinia lagenophoricola, a species of rust fungus, grows exclusively on Lagenophora pumila.
