About Lactuca sibirica (L.) Benth. ex Maxim.

Lactuca sibirica, commonly known as Siberian lettuce, is a species of wild lettuce. Its native range includes Norway, Sweden, Finland, the Baltic states, Belarus, Ukraine, all regions of Russia, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, the northern half of China, the Korean peninsula, Sakhalin, the Kuril Islands, and Japan. It serves as the host for the systemic rust fungus Puccinia minussensis. Puccinia minussensis propagates with Lactuca sibirica along its ramets, leading to complex interactions between this host and parasite.
