Lactifluus aurantioruber is a species of mushroom that belongs to the Russulaceae family. In 1971, McNabb first described this taxon as Lactifluus clarkeae var. aurantioruber, a variety named for its reddish-orange color. In 2021, Jerry A. Cooper elevated this variety to full species status, giving it the current name Lactifluus aurantioruber. The type locality for this species is Tongariro National Park, New Zealand.
