About Kunzea capitata (Sm.) Heynh.

Kunzea capitata (Sm.) Heynh. has a spreading or erect growth habit. It may reach up to 2 metres (6 ft 7 in) tall, but typically grows between 0.5 and 1 metre (1 ft 8 in and 3 ft 3 in) in height. Its flowers range in color from pink to purple, or are occasionally white, and they grow in clustered "heads" at the ends of branches. The leaves are 3.5โ€“9 millimetres (0.14โ€“0.35 in) long and 1.5โ€“4.5 millimetres (0.059โ€“0.177 in) wide, with recurved tips and 1 millimetre (0.039 in) long petioles. This species grows in heathland and dry sclerophyll forest, and is distributed from the Ulladulla district northwards to the Richmond River. For horticultural use, Kunzea capitata prefers moist soil in positions ranging from lightly shaded to sunny, and it can be easily propagated from either seed or cuttings.
