About Krugiodendron ferreum (Vahl) Urb.
Krugiodendron ferreum (Vahl) Urb. is a tree species that reaches 5–10 metres (16–33 ft) in height. Typical air-dry wood samples of this species have densities around 1.30 g/cm³, and densities can reach up to 1.42 g/cm³. It has oppositely arranged, emarginate leaves and small greenish flowers. Its fruit is a drupe that is 5 to 7 mm long, which turns purplish red as it matures. It is widely cultivated in gardens or parks as a drought-tolerant specimen tree.
