Krigia occidentalis Nutt., commonly called western dwarfdandelion, is a North American plant species belonging to the Asteraceae family. It is native to the southern Great Plains and the Ozark Mountains in the south-central United States, specifically occurring in Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, and Louisiana. This species is a small annual herb with a taproot, rarely growing over 16 cm (6.4 inches) tall. Each flower stalk of the plant produces just one flower head. Every head contains 5 to 25 yellow ray flowers, and produces no disc flowers.
