Krigia montana, commonly called mountain dwarfdandelion, is a North American plant species belonging to the Asteraceae family. It is native to the Great Smoky Mountains and other adjacent peaks in the southern Appalachians of Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia. This species grows on cliffs and outcrops at high elevations. Krigia montana is a perennial herb that grows up to 50 cm (20 inches) tall. A single individual plant can produce 20 or more flower heads. Each flower head holds 25 to 60 yellow ray flowers and does not produce any disc flowers.
