About Kocakina fidelis (Grote, 1874)

Kocakina is a genus of moths that belongs to the family Noctuidae. This genus contains just one single species, Kocakina fidelis, which is commonly known as the intractable quaker moth. This species is found in North America; within the continent, it has been recorded across a range extending from Quebec and Maine in the east, south to Florida, and west to Texas and Kansas. The habitat where Kocakina fidelis occurs consists of dry woodlands. The genus was originally named Himella, but this name is a junior homonym, so it was replaced with the new name Kocakina in 2006.
