About Kalanchoe gastonis-bonnieri Raym.-Hamet & H.Perrier
Kalanchoe gastonis-bonnieri is a flowering plant species that belongs to the Crassulaceae family. It is commonly known as palm beachbells or donkey ear plants, a name that comes from its leaves having a shape similar to a donkey’s ear. This species has thick green leaves that usually bear brownish spots, and it often grows small new plantlets at the tips of its leaves. It can be easily confused with two related species, Kalanchoe suarezensis and Kalanchoe mortagei; the leaves of these two species do not have spots, unlike Kalanchoe gastonis-bonnieri.
