Junonia stygia, commonly known as the brown pansy, dark pansy, or Aurivillius' brown pansy, is a butterfly species belonging to the family Nymphalidae. It can be found in Senegal, Guinea-Bissau, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Togo, Nigeria, Cameroon, Gabon, the Republic of the Congo, the Central African Republic, Angola, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Its natural habitat includes forests, covering both disturbed forest areas and secondary forests. The larvae of Junonia stygia feed on Paulowilhelmia sclerochiton and species from the genera Asystasia, Barleria, Justicia, and Phaulopsis.
