About Junonia neildi Brévignon, 2004

Junonia neildi, commonly called the West Indian mangrove buckeye, is a butterfly species that belongs to the family Nymphalidae. This species was previously classified as a subspecies of Junonia genoveva. Its distribution spans Florida, south Texas, Mexico, and the Caribbean. After Junonia neildi was split from Junonia genoveva, Junonia genoveva now occurs primarily in South and Central America. Currently, the only Junonia genus members found in Florida are Junonia neildi, Junonia coenia, and Junonia zonalis.
