Junonia cuama (synonym Precis cuama), commonly known as the paler commodore, is a butterfly species belonging to the family Nymphalidae. This butterfly can be found in Shaba region of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, central and eastern Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia, Mozambique, and Zimbabwe. Its natural habitat includes savanna and open woodland, particularly in areas with rocky terrain. Adult Junonia cuama are active in flight from December through July.
