Junonia chorimene, commonly known as the golden pansy, is a butterfly species that belongs to the family Nymphalidae. This species is distributed across Senegal, the Gambia, Guinea-Bissau, Guinea, Mali, Sierra Leone, Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso, Ghana, Togo, Benin, Nigeria, the Uele, Ituri, Kivu and Lualaba regions of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Sudan, Ethiopia, Uganda, northern and western Kenya, northern Tanzania, south-western Arabia and Yemen. Its natural habitat is made up of riverine vegetation. The larvae of Junonia chorimene feed on species from the genera Asystasia (specifically Asystasia schimperi), Justicia (specifically Justicia leikepiensis), Barleria, Hypoestes, Paulowilhelmia and Ruellia.
