About Juncus subnodulosus Schrank
Juncus subnodulosus Schrank, commonly known as the blunt-flowered rush, is a rush species. It is native to an area stretching from the Mediterranean region through temperate Europe, and does not extend far into Scandinavia. It has been introduced and established populations in New Zealand and North America. This species is an important associated species of the anthropogenic Juncus subnodulosus-Cirsium palustre fen-meadow ecosystem, a significant habitat type found in Western Europe. J. subnodulosus is especially common on the disturbed ridges of this type of fen-meadow.
