About Jefea brevifolia (A.Gray) Strother

Jefea brevifolia, commonly known as shortleaf jefea, is a North American flowering plant species belonging to the Asteraceae family. It is native to northern Mexico and the southwestern and south-central United States. Specifically, it has been found in the Mexican states of Chihuahua, Coahuila, Durango, Nuevo León, Zacatecas, and San Luis Potosí, as well as the U.S. states of Texas and New Mexico. Jefea brevifolia is a small branching shrub. It is woody at its base and grows long flower stalks. Each stalk bears a single flower head at its tip. Each flower head contains between 3 and 20 ray flowers and between 30 and 100 disc flowers.
