About Jamides alecto (Felder, 1860)
Scientific name: Jamides alecto (Felder, 1860)
In 1915, Charles Swinhoe described the subspecies J. a. alocina as follows: The upperside is milky white tinged with pale lavender-blue; the inner surface of the fore wing and the upper half of the hind wing are palest in tone. The fore wing has a fine grey costal line and a narrow grey marginal band. The hind wing has a submarginal series of small, short black lunular marks edged with white on both sides, and a fine black marginal line. The underside is pale pinkish grey, with white but indistinct markings. The fore wing has two lines crossing the end of the cell, which continue to the hinder margin beyond the cell's middle. There are two dislocated lines beyond this, positioned in the fourth, fifth, and sixth interspaces, with a line in the third interspace running between the last two lines. There are two rows of dislocated submarginal lines and one indistinct dislocated marginal line, all three interrupted by the veins. The hind wing has three rows of transverse double lines spaced at equal distances, plus a marginal series, all dislocated by the veins; there is a brownish spot touched with red near the anal angle.
