About Ixodia achillaeoides R.Br.
Ixodia achillaeoides R.Br. is a small understory shrub that reaches heights of 10 to 200 cm (3.9 to 78.7 in). Its stems are smooth, sticky, and branched. Its leaves vary in shape from linear to egg-shaped, are sticky, and measure 5 to 100 mm (0.20 to 3.94 in) long; they are decurrent, dark green on the upper surface, paler on the underside, and have a prominent mid-vein. The inflorescence is an urn-shaped to oval-shaped cluster of 3 to 80 white flowers with yellow centres, borne at the end of stems. Individual flowers are 3 to 9 mm (0.12 to 0.35 in) long and 1 to 8 mm (0.039 to 0.315 in) in diameter, and they are either sessile or borne on a short peduncle. The fruit is a cypsela that is 1.5 to 2.5 mm (0.059 to 0.098 in) long and covered with soft hairs. Flowering mostly occurs in spring and summer. This species has a scattered distribution in Victoria. It is widespread in South Australia, where it grows in woodland, scrubland, and forest.
