About Isturgia disputaria (Guenée)

Isturgia disputaria, commonly called the Maltese bloom, is a species of moth in the family Geometridae. It was first described by Achille Guenée in 1858. This species can be found on the Canary Islands and Malta, as well as in the Afrotropical realm, Asian Turkey, the Caucasus, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Lebanon, Syria, Israel, Jordan, Egypt, the Arabian Peninsula, Iran, and Iraq. The wingspan of adult Isturgia disputaria ranges from 21 to 29 mm, which equals 0.8 to 1.1 inches. Adult moths have been recorded flying from April to May. The larvae of this moth feed on species of the genus Acacia, including Acacia nilotica.
