This species occurs in Poland, Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Croatia, and Hungary. It favors bushy dry grasslands, forest edges, and high-growing, slightly wet meadows. Adult forms (imagines) of Isophya kraussii emerge early in the year, starting around mid-June, though most adults are found starting in July.
