Native Range and Habitat

It is native to shallow waters and other wet habitats in western North America, ranging from British Columbia to California.

This species produces up to 60 pointed, cylindrical leaves that range in color from green to gray-green; each leaf grows 7 to 17 centimeters long.

Sporangia Characteristics

A velum completely covers its spherical sporangia, which measure 5 millimeters long and 1.5 millimeters wide.

Its ligule is small and triangular.

Megaspore Size
