About Ischnura aurora (Brauer, 1865)
Ischnura aurora (Brauer, 1865) is a species of damselfly in the family Coenagrionidae. It is commonly known by the common names gossamer damselfly, golden dartlet, and aurora bluetail. This damselfly inhabits areas among vegetation growing along the banks of ponds, rivers, canals, marshes, and wet rice fields. Its distribution spans Australia, the Pacific Islands, East Asia, and Southeast Asia. There are significant genetic differences between Asian populations of this species and specimens collected from the Pacific. The taxon previously classified as Ischnura aurora rubilio (Selys, 1876), found on the Indian subcontinent and in Iran, is now recognized as a separate species, Ischnura rubilio.
