About Ipomopsis tenuituba (Rydb.) V.E.Grant

Ipomopsis tenuituba (Rydb.) V.E.Grant is a perennial herb. It grows an erect stem with widely spaced leaves; each leaf is 3 to 6 centimeters long and has many narrow, fingerlike lobes. Inflorescences near the top of the stem each bear three to seven flowers. Flowers are very pale to medium pink, sometimes with white streaks, or solid white. Each flower forms a tube 2 to 5 centimeters long, opening into a corolla made of five twisting, pointed, ribbonlike lobes. The stamens and stigma with style do not protrude far from the flower's mouth, if they protrude at all. Even though it is a perennial species, Ipomopsis tenuituba dies after its first flowering event.
