About Ipomoea pes-tigridis L.

Ipomoea pes-tigridis L. is an annual, hairy vining plant. It reaches a length of 1 to 3 meters (3 feet 3 inches to 9 feet 10 inches). Its leaves are palmately lobed, 6 to 10 cm (2.4 to 3.9 inches) in diameter, with 5 to 9 lobes along the leaf margin. The leaf lobes are elliptic with a narrowed base, and the sinuses between adjacent lobes are rounded. This species flowers from September to November. It produces clusters of trumpet-shaped white flowers that are 4 cm (1.6 inches) long. The corolla opens to 3 cm (1.2 inches) in diameter and ends in five pointed tips. Usually, only one flower opens at a time per cluster. Individual flowers open after 4 pm and wither by the following morning.
