About Inula racemosa Hook.fil.

Inula racemosa Hook.fil. is an Asian species in the daisy family, native to the temperate and alpine western Himalayas, where it grows in areas including Xinjiang, Afghanistan, Kashmir, Nepal, and Pakistan. The seeds of this species are positive photoblastic, meaning they require light to germinate and typically germinate at the soil surface. Its roots are widely used locally: in indigenous medicine, they are employed as an expectorant, and in veterinary medicine, they are used as a tonic. This species has been introduced to many countries as both an ornamental plant and a medicinal herb.
