About Indigofera linifolia (L.f.) Retz.

Indigofera linifolia, commonly known as narrowleaf indigo, is a flowering plant species belonging to the legume family Fabaceae. It has a very broad natural distribution, ranging from Sudan eastward through the Indian Subcontinent, Southeast Asia, Malesia, and New Guinea to Australia. It has also been introduced to Réunion and New Caledonia. This species can be used as fodder for livestock consumption. During periods of famine, humans can grind its seeds and bake the resulting meal into bread to eat. Indigofera linifolia typically grows in dry slope habitats, grasslands, and alongside rivers.
