This species is distributed along the Pacific slopes of western El Salvador, Guatemala, and the southern Mexican states of Oaxaca and Chiapas.
Natural Habitat
Its natural habitats are semi-deciduous forests located close to rivers and moderate-sized streams.

It carries out breeding in ponds and streams.

It can also be found in disturbed habitats, such as coffee plantations.
