About Imshaugia placorodia (Ach.) S.L.F.Meyer

Imshaugia placorodia has a pale gray thallus made up of narrow lobes that are 0.5–1.5 mm wide. Its apothecia, which are the lichen's fruiting bodies, measure 2–7 mm wide. Within North America, Imshaugia placorodia is distributed across eastern Canada, the northeastern United States, and parts of the central United States. In Mexico, the species occurs from the northwestern region of the country down to Mexico's Central Volcanic Belt. This lichen grows on the bark of many different pine tree species.
