The leaves are ovate, hairless, and cordate at the base, with crenate or distantly serrate margins. Leaf stalks measure 10 to 20 centimeters long. The flowering stem, or scape, grows up to 35 centimeters long. The flowers are 4 centimeters across, and narrow towards the apex. The bracts are ovate and acute, and measure 5 to 8 millimeters long. Flower stalks are 4 to 5 centimeters long. The lip of the flower is ovate and obtuse, and the spur is 4 to 5 centimeters long. Sepals are 4 millimeters long by 3 millimeters wide, ovate and acute. The lobes of the flower wings are subequal and oblong. The fruit capsule is ellipsoid, and 1.2 centimeters long. The seeds are glandular and hairy.
