About Impatiens kinabaluensis S.Akiyama & H.Ohba

Impatiens kinabaluensis S.Akiyama & H.Ohba reaches approximately 90 centimetres (35 inches) in height. It has long, rigid stems. Its leaves measure around 3 to 4 inches long, are dark green, have smooth entire margins, and range in shape from ovate to lanceolate-ovate. The leaves are ribbed and shiny, with a thick, water-repellent cuticle on their upper surface. The flowers are pink-lilac in color, and bloom between April and November. This species is found in Kinabalu National Park in Sabah, on the island of Borneo. It grows in shaded rainforest habitat, with moist, well-drained soil, at an altitude of roughly 1,700 metres (5,600 ft) above sea level.
