Illeis galbula is a beetle species native to eastern Australia and New Guinea, introduced to New Zealand's North Island.

About Illeis galbula

Illeis galbula has distinct size and appearance across its life stages. Adult individuals measure 4 to 5 millimeters long, and have a black body marked with bright yellow spots. Larvae of this species grow 8 to 10 millimeters long, are grey in color, and have black tubercles covered in short spines. The pupa is pale yellow with black tubercles and lateral spurs. This species is native to Eastern Australia, and also occurs naturally in New Guinea. It is an introduced non-native species in the North Island of New Zealand, where it was first recorded in Auckland in 1985.
