About Idaea tacturata (Walker, 1861)

Idaea tacturata, commonly known as the dot-lined wave moth, is a moth species belonging to the family Geometridae. Francis Walker first described this species in 1861. It is found in the United States, ranging from Virginia to Florida, and extending west to south-eastern coastal Texas. The wingspan of adult dot-lined wave moths measures between 13 and 21 mm. In the southern portion of the species' range, adults are active on the wing throughout the year. The larvae of this species feed on plants from the Trifolium genus.
