Idaea sylvestraria, commonly known as the dotted border wave, is a moth species belonging to the family Geometridae. This species was first formally described by Jacob Hübner in 1799, and it occurs in Europe. The wingspan of adult Idaea sylvestraria ranges from 20 to 23 millimeters. Adult moths of this species fly during the months of July and August. The larvae of the species feed on dandelion and knotgrass.
