About Idaea mediaria (Hübner)

Idaea mediaria (Hübner) is a moth species belonging to the family Geometridae. This species is distributed in south-western Europe, Corsica, Sardinia, Tuscany, and North Africa. It prefers dry, hot habitats at elevations ranging from 1,300 to 1,900 metres (4,300 to 6,200 ft) above sea level. The wingspan of adult Idaea mediaria measures 14 to 19 millimetres (0.55 to 0.75 in). Adult moths fly from July to September. The larvae of this species feed on a variety of herbaceous plants.
